Crowns


Crowns are custom made to cover an entire tooth. The materials used are gold, porcelain fused to metal (PFM), or all porcelain crowns. On the back teeth crowns are often placed to protect badly worn or heavily filled teeth. With front teeth these reasons also apply but crowns are also often placed to improve appearance or minor misalignment of teeth.

Anterior Crowns



Crowns on anterior teeth can dramatically improve their appearance. The case illustrated below was completed over 20 years ago and is still functioning.

Repairing a fractured tooth with a simple composite restoration



These two front teeth have been fractured in an accident. They have been repaired with composite resin. Initially the result is good but composite resin does tend to discolor over time.
